Hi all, it's Michiel.
Today we are releasing our map of ESG and climate software vendors as a dataset on the platform. It holds 1,361 vendors headquartered in Europe, sorted into 13 categories. For 88 of them we have not confirmed the country yet, and the others are spread over 32 countries.
We built the map between July and October 2026 from public sources, mostly the vendors' own websites and their LinkedIn company pages.
Who gets in
A vendor is in the map when its own website shows a software product for sustainability or climate work, and its headquarters are in Europe. For this map Europe means the EU and the EEA, plus the UK and Switzerland.
Every vendor in the map has two short quotes from its own website as evidence. One shows the product, and the other shows that the product is meant for sustainability work. A company that writes about sustainability without selling a tool for it stays out. Team size played no part in the decision.
Consultancies have their own map on the platform. 79 firms appear in both maps, since they sell consulting and also have a software product of their own.
What we hold for each vendor
The table has the fields below. Some of them are blank for part of the map, as the gaps section shows.
- Category. One of 13 categories, for the main thing the product does. 76 vendors fit none of our 12 named categories and sit under Other.
- Business model. Pure SaaS, software plus services, a consultancy with a tool, or a data provider. We base it on what the website says the vendor sells.
- Framework modules. We check 19 frameworks, such as CSRD / ESRS and CBAM. We only count a module when the website describes a part of the product built for that framework. When a site only names a framework, the company page lists it as a mention.
- AI in the product. We mark whether AI is the core of the product or a feature in it, or whether we found no AI features at all. So far we checked this for part of the map only.
- Team size. A band from 1-10 up to 1000+ employees, mostly taken from the vendor's LinkedIn page.
- Country. The country of the headquarters.
- GTM fields. How the vendor sells, as far as its public website shows it. This covers the sales motion on the homepage and what the pricing page shows, plus any CRM tool or ad pixel we found on the site.
Each row also links to the vendor's website and, where we have it, its LinkedIn page.
What the data shows
Categories
ESG & CSRD reporting is the largest category, with 267 vendors, or 20% of the map. Carbon accounting is close behind with 254, and energy management has 209. Together these three hold 730 vendors, which is 54% of the map.

Some carbon accounting tools also have a CSRD / ESRS module, so the line between the two largest groups is not sharp.
Circularity & EPR follows with 146 vendors. After that the groups get smaller, from 90 vendors in supply chain due diligence down to 25 in water and 17 in sustainable finance.
Business models
Pure SaaS is the largest model, with 810 vendors, or 60% of the map. Another 378 vendors, or 28%, sell software together with services. 103 are consultancies with a tool of their own, and 70 are data providers.

So 40% of the vendors sell something other than pure software. In our deep dive on how ESG software gets sold, we linked this to the demo-first motion that most vendors show where we can see one.
Framework modules
CSRD / ESRS leads the framework modules by a wide margin. 205 vendors have a module for it, which is 15% of the map. The GHG Protocol follows with 126 vendors. VSME comes third with 61, ahead of the EU Taxonomy with 46 and CBAM with 42.

These counts are a floor. We ran the framework check on the vendors we mapped before October, and the 339 vendors we added in October have no framework tags yet.
AI in the product
For 1,022 vendors, or 75% of the map, the AI field says not assessed. We checked the 339 vendors we added in October, so the counts below describe that group and not the whole market.
Of those 339, 67 vendors build the product around AI, which is 20%. Another 92, or 27%, have AI features. For 180 vendors, or 53%, we found no AI features on the website.
Part of the October additions came from a search for vendors that build on AI. So we expect this sample to lean towards AI, and we would not apply the 20% to the full map.
Team size and country
Of all vendors, 598 have 1 to 10 employees, which is 44% of the map, and another 423 have 11 to 50. We count 19 vendors with more than 250 employees. The UK has the most vendors with 259, ahead of Germany with 173 and France with 132.
Using it on the platform
The full table is under Datasets > SaaS vendors. You can filter by category and business model, and also by country or by sales motion. The search box looks in vendor names and domains, and in the website quotes. Sorting on the Framework modules column puts the vendors with the most modules at the top.
For example, set the category to Carbon accounting and the country to Germany. Then add the Pure SaaS business model to keep only the vendors that sell software alone.
Click a vendor's name to open its company page. The classification card shows the category and the business model, along with the framework modules and the AI level. The description is the quote from the vendor's website that shows its product.
The GTM stack card on the same page shows the sales motion and what the pricing page shows, plus any CRM tool or ad pixel on the website. The Signals tab lists the vendor's recent signals, such as job posts or a new product.
The GTM Motion page puts these fields together for the 1,318 vendors in our signal tracker. Our deep dive on how ESG software gets sold walks through its charts.
Known gaps
- Country. 88 vendors, about 6% of the map, have no confirmed country yet. They are in the totals but not in any country count. If one of them turns out to be based outside Europe, we will take it out.
- Founding year. We hold no founding year for any vendor yet.
- Team size. We could not find a team size for 183 vendors, or 13% of the map.
- AI and frameworks. The AI check covers the 339 vendors added in October, and the framework check covers the vendors mapped before that, so no vendor has both fields filled yet.
- Signals and GTM fields. Signals and the GTM stack only exist for the 1,318 vendors in our signal tracker. The other 43 vendors in the map have neither yet.
- Duplicates. The map still holds a few duplicate rows for country sites of the same vendor, such as a German and a French site listed as two vendors. They make up about 1% of the rows, and we will merge them.
- Missing vendors. We will have missed some vendors, most likely small ones with little on the web.
Everything in this post is on the platform, under Datasets > SaaS vendors and on the GTM Motion page. If your company is missing, or its category or modules look wrong, email us at info@biotiq.io. We will check it against your website and correct the row.
